Love Beyond Words: The Silent Wisdom of Dogs in Behind Those Eyes

Image
Behind Those Eyes by Tushar Chatterji is a deeply moving book featuring interconnected stories that invites you into the emotional worlds of our canine friends. It is a book that does more than narrate events. It gently opens a door into the silent, observant, and profoundly sensitive inner lives of animals who share our homes, our streets, and often our hearts. Told through multiple canine perspectives, the collection allows readers to experience the world through instinct, scent, memory, and feeling. This narrative choice becomes the emotional core of the book. Rather than presenting dogs as secondary to human drama, the stories center their perceptions and emotional clarity. Through their eyes, human behavior appears both fragile and beautiful, complicated yet deeply sincere. The settings shift across strikingly different landscapes. From crowded city streets to the vast stillness of the Himalayas, from elegant homes filled with luxury to quiet coastal stretches shaped by wind and t...

Between the Lines and Laughs: Inside the Human World of Qualitative Research

Image
Some books teach you a subject. Others invite you into a world. Between the Lines and Laughs by Geetika Singh and Ashwini Sirsikar does something rarer. It turns an entire professional discipline into a living, breathing narrative filled with humor, warmth, and deeply human moments. At first glance, qualitative research might sound like a niche topic best suited to academic textbooks. But this book refuses to be boxed into jargon or technical frameworks. Instead, it reimagines the evolution of qualitative research in India as a story told through people. Fictional characters who feel strikingly real guide the reader through this journey. Through Maya, Sonal, Ayesha, Priya, and Rhea, readers travel across three decades of change, witnessing how an industry has grown, adapted, and reinvented itself alongside a rapidly transforming society. Each character represents a different era, and with them comes a distinct mood and rhythm. The early days carry a sense of pioneering curiosity. Tradi...

Firaki Book Review

Image
I Didn’t Expect This to Feel So Easy to Read For a book dealing with such heavy stuff, Firaki is surprisingly smooth to get through. The writing flows naturally and I never felt like I had to “prepare myself” before picking it up again. The story moves steadily without dragging which is a big plus. I liked how conversations felt natural, almost like listening in rather than reading something overly polished. There’s also a quiet intelligence running through the book that doesn’t feel showy. It respects your time and attention. If I had one small gripe, it’s that a few moments could’ve slowed down just a bit to sink in more. Still, it’s the kind of book you recommend by saying, “Just try the first few pages,” because chances are you won’t stop.

Swathwa Viprasthitha: The Voyage of the Soul — A Hypnotic Blend of Fantasy, Mystery, and Spiritual Adventure

Image
Some books entertain you. Some challenge you. And then there are books like Swathwa Viprasthitha: The Voyage of the Soul that completely transport you, blurring the delicate line between the world we know and a world that exists just beyond the edge of consciousness. Jijesh V. Saseendran’s fantasy drama offers exactly this kind of immersive journey, creating an experience that lingers long after the last page is turned. At its heart, Swathwa Viprasthitha is a story about the mysteries of the mind and the uncharted territories of the soul. The novel begins in a modern-day setting, with strange events unfolding around a mysterious old book. But what seems like a medical puzzle slowly transforms into something far more profound and a multi-layered narrative begins that bridges centuries, realities, and spiritual dimensions. Rather than following a conventional fantasy structure, the book takes readers on a voyage where the psychological and the mystical are inseparably intertwined. The au...

Author Interview with Enakshi Sengupta

The Silk Route Spy  1. Reading The Silk Route Spy, one senses it’s more than a historical retelling — it feels like a conversation between generations. What moment or emotion first convinced you that this family story deserved to be shared with the world? Ans: It was a lazy, nothing much to do afternoon. I was leafing through our family album and suddenly I felt that Nandlal Kapur was staring back at me, with my one-year-old chubby father-in-law on his lap, a photograph taken in 1932 in Japan. My sister had been asking me to write something and not waste my time twiddling my thumbs. It suddenly dawned on me, why not the story of Nandlal Kapur’s life?  The journey had been so exciting. Some I knew, and some I had to rely on research and put the pieces together. 2. The title The Silk Route Spy beautifully fuses trade, travel, and espionage. At what stage of writing did the title come to you — was it early inspiration or a later realization? Ans: Actually, I had given the t...

Life Without IF: A Motivational Roadmap for Intentional Living*

Image
Life often feels like a chain of “what ifs.” What if I fail? What if I am not good enough? What if circumstances don’t work out? These questions weigh heavily on our decisions, often pushing us into hesitation and doubt. The book Life Without IF by Sudipto Chowdhury and Joyking Birje takes this familiar word: IF, and turns it into something powerful. Rather than seeing it as a barrier, the authors show how it can become a catalyst for courage, action, and transformation. Unlike the average self-help book, this isn’t about short bursts of inspiration that fade the next day. Motivation may push us temporarily, but it rarely tells us exactly what to do next. This book is different. It not only provides a roadmap but acts like a GPS for transformation, guiding readers step by step toward intentional living. Why This Book Stands Out Most motivational books rely on lofty ideas. Life Without IF is firmly grounded in science, especially neuroscience, and written in a way that anyone: a student...
